A few months ago, we began creating a very special collection for NEREA. We decided to call it MACUTO as a tribute to a place that has always lived in our hearts.
For us, Macuto represents much more than a destination. It represents childhood memories, the sea, the architecture we so admire, and that first embrace we feel as Venezuelans when we return home. That moment when the ocean's scent reminds us, without need for words, that we have finally returned.
We never imagined that, such a short time later, that name would take on a completely different meaning.
In these days, we have received countless messages, calls, and gestures of love that have deeply moved us. We want to express our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who took a moment to reach out, to ask how we were, and to keep Venezuela in their thoughts.
To our community, our customers, and our friends in Costa Rica: thank you. Thank you for caring not only about us, but also about so many Venezuelan families. Your solidarity has reminded us that compassion knows no borders.
We also want to honor the Venezuelan people. Once again, we have witnessed a strength that moves us. People who, even amid uncertainty, have found ways to come together, extend their hands, and move forward. That resilience, that generosity, and that hope are part of our identity and a source of profound pride.
If you wish to stand with Venezuela in this moment, we invite you to support the humanitarian organizations working actively in the country. We deeply believe that solidarity is built through small gestures, and that every act of help carries the power to bring hope to those who need it most.
Today we understand that MACUTO is no longer simply the name of a collection.
It is a tribute to a place we love, to its history, and to all the people who carry it with them, no matter where in the world they are.
That is why, for the next seven days, we have decided to pause our communication.
We believe that there are moments when silence is also a way to accompany, to remember, and to honor what truly matters.
